  • Studenti se rozdělí do dvojic.
  • Text vytiskneme, rozstříháme po odstavcích. Každá z dvojic dostane jeden odstavec z pracovního listu a slovník pro případné dohledání slovní zásoby. Více než jedna dvojice má stejný text, abychom pak mohli porovnat jejich výkon.
  • Úkolem jednotlivých dvojic bude správně doplnit členy a/an/the/-, a též vysvětlit důvod jejich použití.

Fateful encounters in Prague

In Prague, you will start to believe in destiny. The city whose celestial glory was foretold even before its founding still inspires romantic pronouncements today. Stroll through Prague in the footsteps of famous astronomers or recall the brilliant music composers who worked here. When your head starts to spin from all the sharp Cubist angles, relax at some of the places popular with Prague residents themselves …

Český Krumlov in a time loop

The streets of Český Krumlov could whisper stories about alchemists seeking the elixir of youth and artists for whom the historical city on the Vltava became both asylum and inspiration. Its Renaissance splendour has dazzled not only painters but also musicians and opera singers, who come here every year for the renowned music festival.

Treasures of South Moravia

South Moravia with its vineyards and monuments is one of the loveliest corners of the Czech Republic, but its greatest treasures lie hidden underground. In Pálava, excellent wine has been cultivated for centuries, and an ordinary tourist will quickly turn into an enthusiastic wine connoisseur here.

Key to the Bohemian Kingdom

The history of the Czech lands is closely connected with that of Germany. their common border is interlaced with stories of struggles between the two lands, but it is also dotted with places of encounter between the cultures. One such place is Loket Castle, which since time immemorial has been called the key to the Kingdom of Bohemia. It was claimed, in fact, that whoever conquered Loket would conquer the entire Czech kingdom.

Giant Mountains

The Krkonoše range stretches 40km into Bohemian territory, creating a natural border between the Czech Republic and Poland. The highest peak is Mt. Snezka (1,602 m). Several other peaks exceed 1,500 m. In order to preserve both wildlife and the environment, the Krkonoše was proclaimed a national park in 1963.

Lakes and ponds

There are 455 natural lakes in the Czech Republic, 350 of which are river lakes that have formed in the grasslands of larger rivers. A characteristic feature of the Czech landscape is the large number of artificial lakes created for fish-farming. The largest of them are Lake Rozmberk and Lake Bezdrev in southern Bohemia.
